Secrets is about betrayal. Although this song isn't about me, I hope it gives an opportunity for people to talk about their secrets, the hurt they can cause and the importance of being honest.
I'll Be Your Baby - 2019
I'll Be Your Baby is my debut Christmas single. It's about falling for somebody at Christmas time, someone you didn't expect to fall for, and asking whether they can love you in return.
Keeper - 2019
Over the last few years I've written quite a few songs about heart ache and heart break. But I realised, while I'm paying so much attention to the negative guys, I'm ignoring the ones that truly make the world a better place. The ones that pick up the pieces. The ones that do things for the good of others. The ones you can come home to and tell them about your day. The ones that work hard and don't complain when other things get in the way. The ones who are honest, king and love you just the way you are. These are the Keepers.
Mary Jane - 2019
Mary Jane is about walking away from a toxic relationship. I wanted to write a song that empowers people to get up and get out if they aren't being treated as they should be and being made to feel like they're going crazy when in fact they're drowning in the other person's lies.
Whiskey Than Wine/Y Gytgan Anghyflawn - 2018
This is my Grandfather's story after losing my Grandmother at age 6 he turned to alcohol to help ease the pain of grief. My nan was the one who helped him to read and write, did all the cooking and generally was a calming influence on him. Without her around it was so difficult watching him struggle and learn to cope living his life by himself. My grandad and I are pretty close but sometimes he can be misunderstood. So that's why I wanted to write the song. 'Whiskey Than Wine' was co-written by Amy Wadge (songwriter and co-writer of Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud'). The song is also available in Welsh 'Y Gytgan Anghyflawn'.
Mirror Mirror - 2016
After suffering with Anorexia Nervosa from the age of 15, I wrote Mirror Mirror as a way to express my thoughts on the pressures of growing up and to try and tackle the issues of body image and self doubt. This song is for anyone who wants to fight that small voice in your head that says you can't. That one voice that tells you you're not good enough, because you ARE good enough. It's not easy, and you won't always be happy, but you CAN learn to love yourself, and there is nothing wrong with that.
